Abstract
ITECO enrolls an average of 2,547 undergraduates per quarter across 385–400 sections, of which an average of 137 (34.25%–35.58%) fail to meet normal enrollment conditions, reflected in a low average credit load (10.55% per quarter) and low graduation rates within expected timeframes, as shown by Polanco et al. (2005). This project developed a tool (SCAPE) to help academic units plan courses according to student needs while keeping cohorts uniform, analyzing the current system via questionnaire and proposing a system to control student progress through curricula, flag prerequisite violations at pre-selection, and unify course offerings across schools. SCAPE demonstrated that the current system lacks the capacity to efficiently manage course offerings for cohort tracking, while the proposed system provides a reliable basis for planning and monitoring student progress.
