ITECO Admissions Statistics System, 2005

Abstract

ITECO enrolls over 2,400 students and must report statistical information to university leadership and stakeholders; the Statistics Department currently processes this manually in Microsoft Excel, making data retrieval slow. This project equipped ITECO's Admissions Department with a computerized tool to control admitted-student statistics, automating the department to provide fast, consistent, reliable information on pending documents, admission category, secondary-school GPA, school of origin, gender, program, nationality, and age. The system reduces calculation errors, duplicate student IDs, data inconsistencies, and incomplete records inherent to the previous manual process.
