Abstract

The purpose of this article is to draw attention to the application of statistics in scientific research for students, professionals, and researchers to reflect upon.

The use of statistics in any type of research is an axiom. Statistics is the science of transforming data into knowledge, and it is the mathematics of uncertainty for decision-making. As an important mathematical tool in the quality of scientific research, in which ITECO University is consciously involved, fulfilling its mission, it is based on the criterion that it is not enough to use the appropriate standard or particular methodology, or the ideal statistical method for the analysis and interpretation of data, but that the researcher must always bear in mind throughout the research process that if the moral element is not part of their work, the research will lack scientific value, and therefore, the knowledge acquired cannot be used as new contributions to science (pure research), nor to diagnose needs or solve problems that are of interest to society and institutions or organizations (applied research).
