Abstract
Higher education institutions today must respond to pressing social, cultural, and economic problems while also managing internal challenges such as student dropout and overcrowding. Despite offering a competitive curriculum, quality services, institutional prestige, and affordable tuition, ITECO sees many local students choose to study elsewhere. This descriptive-exploratory study surveyed students from Sánchez Ramírez enrolled at CURNE and Universidad Católica Nordestana, using the Kreyce and Morgan sampling table. Results show mixed awareness and perception of ITECO: reasons for not choosing it included tuition cost and lack of desired programs, while many respondents were unaware of its full course offerings and considered its advertising insufficient. It is recommended that ITECO implement continuous, multi-channel advertising campaigns, emphasizing that its credits are recognized by other universities, in order to attract and retain students.
