Abstract
The objective of this research was to determine the performance level of students in the second cycle of the Juan Sánchez Ramírez urban school, in order to identify the factors directly affecting said performance. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used, with the sample drawn from the Kreicije and D'Morgan table. It was determined that academic performance among second-cycle students at the school under study is low, averaging 75 points per subject. It is recommended to provide greater support for teachers' academic preparation through training in the subjects where they experience the most difficulty, to give greater priority to students' academic performance given their low average, and to devote greater effort to the teaching-learning process to raise student performance.
