Abstract
Currently, through curricular transformation, teachers are motivated and encouraged to use and develop evaluation techniques and instruments that meet the reliability and accuracy standards required for their application, thereby contributing to quality education. Despite this, it is observed that the methodology used by teachers at the Francisco Henríquez y Carvajal Lyceum in the morning and afternoon shifts does not align, in terms of the evaluation techniques and instruments used, with the quality standards required by the education system as governed by Ordinance 1'96, Article 3, which makes it necessary to conduct a review in order to identify the causes of this problem. Carrying out an evaluation process in educational centers in accordance with scientific principles is a solid guarantee of sustainable development; the centers under study suffer from concerning shortcomings such as: teachers deficiently apply the evaluation procedure proposed in Ordinance 1'96; the measurement of students' academic achievements has become part of everyday pedagogical culture; students' grades are not regularly recorded in a teacher's individual notebook, but are instead entered directly into the official record and do not represent the culmination of a rational process of compiling all the work carried out by students. It is also noted that Chapter III contains the methodology that guided the development of this research, ensuring the scientific rigor and highest level of objectivity required by this type of study. This chapter also presents a descriptive research design, the population and sample, the distribution of students and teachers by lyceum or educational center, the sampling method, instrumentation, validity and reliability, and data collection and analysis. In the observation checklist, question one, on whether teachers have their lesson plans on hand and aligned with the content and objectives, the results show that 45% fully agree, 13.63% simply agree, while 13.63% disagree and 27.27% fully disagree. Regarding the question on whether teachers make rational use of time, 54.54% fully agree, 13.63% agree, 13.63% fully disagree, and 18.18% fully disagree. Regarding whether teachers use adequate resources, it was observed that 45.45% fully agree, 22.72% agree, 18.13% disagree, and 13.63% fully disagree.
