Stereotypes about Haitians

Abstract
The conception that exists about the practice of voodoo, as a Haitian religion associated with forces of evil and witchcraft, areone of the characteristics that I seek to highlight as a way to verify the objectivity of the particularities that define the stereotypes. In social groups, especially the popular conglomerate, ideas and beliefs are generated that Haitians are witches, criminals or eat people, whichresults in a rejection of African descent, as a counterpart to Hispanicism It is indisputable that the tensions and conflict realities that aregenerated between the Dominican Republic and Haiti are conditioned by the historical processes that lead them to coexist and share thesame territory. War conflicts generate rivalry, which in my opinion brings with it prejudices, as was observed with the extermination ofindigenous peoples, the persecution of the Jews, the wars in the Middle East and the racism practiced towards Haitians. This study revealsthat the vast majority of resident Dominicans do not agree that, in the future, to avoid problems, Haiti and the Dominican Republic should be founded into a single nation and thus share their wealth. Only a negligible number answered yes.
